LA RECONSTRUCCIÓN DE LA NATURALEZA

La naturaleza ya no es indómita. Ha sido trazada, modificada y reinterpretada según las necesidades, los deseos y las miradas humanas. Esta exposición presenta obras que parten de materiales naturales —tierra, óxidos, pigmentos orgánicos, papel hecho a mano y restos vegetales— para explorar una idea de paisaje que ya no es puro, sino construido, manipulado, herido.

Mediante formas, texturas y fragmentos, las piezas revelan los límites entre aquello orgánico y aquello artificial. No se trata de una celebración de la naturaleza idealizada, sino de una reflexión sobre su transformación constante. Las obras no buscan imitar la naturaleza, sino interrogarla, recuperar vestigios, hacer memoria.

La construcción de la naturaleza es, en el fondo, una mirada hacia nosotros mismos: sobre cómo proyectamos nuestro mundo interior sobre un paisaje que un día denominamos natural.

La exposición propone repensar la noción de naturaleza y paisaje, no como espacios puros o intactos, sino como construcciones culturales marcadas por la huella humana. Es una invitación a cuestionar qué entendemos hoy por “natural” y a revisar nuestra relación con el entorno que habitamos.

Barcelona

Nacida en Barcelona, actualmente reside en València con taller en el barrio de Russafa. Ha realizado numerosas exposiciones colectivas e individuales, nacionales e internacionales. Ha obtenido varios premios y tiene obra en la colección de arte contemporáneo de la Generalitat Valenciana. Desde sus inicios sus trabajos giran alrededor del tiempo, la vulnerabilidad y la fragilidad de la naturaleza como metáfora de nuestra propia existencia. La mayor parte de sus creaciones hacen referencia a la Naturaleza, que aparece en sus obras, bien de forma explícita como motivo central, paisajes, dibujos, bien de forma indirecta a través de los materiales que utiliza.

THE RECONSTRUCTION OF NATURE

Nature is no longer untamed. It has been shaped, modified and reinterpreted to suit human needs, desires and visions. This exhibition presents works based on natural materials – earth, oxides, organic pigments, handmade paper and plant residues – to explore a notion of landscape that is no longer pure, but constructed, manipulated, damaged.

Through shapes, textures and fragments, the pieces reveal the boundaries between the organic and the artificial. It is not a celebration of idealised nature, but a reflection on its constant transformation. The works do not seek to imitate nature, but to question it, to recover traces, to capture memories.

The reconstruction of nature is, at heart, a look at ourselves: at how we project our inner world onto a landscape that we once called natural.

The exhibition aims to reassess the notion of nature and landscape, not as pure or untouched spaces, but as cultural developments marked by the human footprint. It is an invitation to question what we understand today by «natural» and to review our relationship with the environment that we inhabit.

Elena Martí Manzanares
Barcelona

Born in Barcelona, the artist currently lives in Valencia with a studio in the Russafa district. She has participated in numerous collective and individual, exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. She has won several awards and her work is part of the contemporary art collection of the Generalitat Valenciana. Fom the very beginning, her work has focused on time, vulnerability and the fragility of nature as a metaphor for our own existence. Most of her creations make reference to Nature, which appears in her works, either explicitly as a central motif in landscapes and drawings, or indirectly through the materials she uses.
